Elevate

Elevate focuses on cultivating a sense of belonging in the structural steel industry.

Before 2018, women attending NASCC: The Steel Conference would network and build relationships informally at local restaurants or in passing between sessions--leading to meaningful and impactful connections in an industry historically dominated by men.

In 2018, AISC committee members and Women in Structural Engineering (WiSE) leaders Erica Fischer, PE, PhD and Ayse Hortascu asked AISC for a dedicated space to bring together all of the women attending the Steel Conference in Baltimore. With AISC's assistance and industry sponsorships, they arranged a lowkey networking event.

Today, Elevate has expanded its mission to include all underrepresented groups and their allies across the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Join us as we celebrate the strength that diversity brings to the steel industry alongside new and old friends!

Wednesday, April 2  |  7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
